Canada’s largest wine festival is a six-day celebration of Niagara wine in historic Montebello Park in downtown St. Catharines; one of the oldest and most beautiful parks in the Niagara that comes alive for two weekends in September. A celebration of Niagara and the bounty of harvest, the Montebello Park wine and culinary experience truly showcases all that the region has to offer.

Grab your friends and get ready for the best party of the year in Niagara as you head down to the park to enjoy over 100 wines, mouthwatering local cuisine, 50 hours of live music and a variety of entertaining wine seminars.

New for 2019, the All Access Lounge Pass gives you the opportunity to experience the party in the Harvest Lounge, Sommelier Lounge and the new Wine Garden Lounge! With exclusive access to premium bars featuring VQA wines, comfortable lounge seating with incredible stage views and private washrooms, make your Grape & Wine experience an unforgettable one!

All Access Lounge Passes are $15 +HST* (while supplies last) and include access to all three lounges in Montebello Park and your commemorative wine glass. Grape & Wine FAQ

How much does it cost?

The Niagara Grape & Wine Festival is a FREE admission event! Wine and food can be purchased using tokens – each token costs $3.50 (incl. HST) and can be purchased at the Token Tents in the park. Your festival glass is priced at 1 token. Food is priced by the vendors at 2-4 tokens.

How is the Wine is priced?

Main Park – 2 or 3 tokens/glass (10 or 15 tokens/bottle). Harvest Lounge -2 tokens/glass (10 tokens/bottle). Sommelier Lounge – 3 tokens/glass (15 tokens/bottle). Wine Garden Lounge – 3 tokens/glass (15 tokens/bottle).

Can I purchase tokens in advance?

You can skip the line and purchase tokens in advance here and pick them up at guest services in front of the harvest lounge at the park.

Where can I park?

The City of St. Catharines offers over 2,500 free parking spaces on Friday (after 6pm) and all day Saturday and Sunday within a 15 minute walk of Montebello Park. Please visit the city's website to view the parking map.

What kind of family fun can we find at Grape & Wine?

All kinds! Montebello Park is open to friends of all ages (ID required to access wine). The Tim Hortons Family Fun Zone is designed for families with activities, seating areas and kid-friendly food options. The Pied Piper Parade on September 21 invites kids to join in the fun as a parade participant and then enjoy a post-parade BBQ sponsored by the Real Canadian Superstore. And, of course, the Meridian Grande Parade has been a family favourite for 68 years … don’t miss it!

How “green” is Grape & Wine?

We’re green and groovy! All plates, napkins and cutlery are 100% compostable, and compost and recycling bins are located throughout the park. The plastic wine glasses are reusable and can be used at the Water Wagon for free, cool water throughout the event. Just like the City of St. Catharines, we are a plastic bottle-free zone. New for 2019, donate your wine glass to the Live Art installation in the #MyWineLife exhibit.

Is the park “pooch friendly”?

As much as we love our pets, Montebello Park is a pet-free zone. Please leave your furry friends at home.

Show the community your “True Colours” while marching the special “Kids Parade” route from Montebello Park and back. Dress head to toe in your favourite colour and join over a thousand children in singing True Colours, a fan favourite from Trolls! Registration is at 10am. Parade at 11am. Social Responsibility

Anyone over the age of 19 must wear a wristband in order to be served wine.

No smoking

No smoking is allowed on Montebello Park property. The Regional No Smoking By-Law enforcement will be in effect.

There will be a family entrance at Lake Street, strollers and wagons will be inspected.

Last Call will be 10:15 sharp each evening and token booths will close at that time as well.

Wine must be consumed out of the commemorative acrylic glass. No glass is allowed in the park.

Bottle Sales

Only one bottle per person per transaction. Bottles cannot be sold after 9pm on Sep 20th, 27th, and after 7pm on Sep 21st, 28th.

lost and found

The Niagara Grape and Wine Festival is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Guests should contact the administration office regarding lost and found items 905-688-0212.

It is a violation of Alcohol Gaming Commission of Ontario’ liquor laws to bring alcoholic beverages inside Montebello park. Our event staff and security is committed to enforcing the liquor laws and alcoholic beverages brought inside the park will be confiscated.

All guests, regardless of age, will be asked to show ID when purchasing alcoholic beverages and will be provided a wristband. Wristbands must be visible when purchasing wine tasting and winery staff have the ability to ask for ID if they suspect someone wearing a wristband in not of legal drinking age.

The NGWF staff reserves the right to deny admission and/or alcohol to anyone that is intoxicated or poses a hazard to public safety.

Providing alcohol to minors, and possession of alcohol by minors is a violation of the province’s liquor laws. Guests furnishing alcohol to minors and minors in possession of alcohol will be removed from the park.

Anyone that appears to be under the influence of drugs or excessive alcohol will not be permitted into the park.

Security has the right to confiscate bottles should someone be drinking directly from it.

Winery partners are strictly forbidden to give customers corks or screw tops.

Please be advised that Montebello Park festivities are only active during the weekends of the Festival. Wineries are open throughout the week for tours and tastings, but Discovery Pass events only occur on the weekend as well.
